When I opened my vehicle to get in, I heard something loud hitting the back panel. I then noticed my rear window had fell 3/4 of the way out and hit the back panel of my car. The adhesive on the rear window assembly failed causing the window assembly to partially fall out. I immediately left the car in park and will not drive it as the remaining portions of the window structure could come out causing an unsafe hazard to myself and others as the window May hit the driver or others on the road when it fully comes out. I only have 33,000 miles on the car and have had this car in my garage since the day I purchased it. This has been a problem with this vehicle since 2005, at which time Chrysler issued an 'extended warranty' which included the cost to fix this defect to those numerous 2005's who complained. …
I was driving my 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster when I noticed a wind sound coming from the rear of the passenger side. I noticed a separation in the rear window glass from the convertible top. By the time I arrived home the glass has separated more than half way from the convertible top. I will not drive this Crossfire anymore as I believe this separation mentioned above to be unsafe and could possibly fail completely and cause a hazard to myself and others or crash during driving.
I have a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire convertable. As I was driving I noticed a weird change of noise, I soon realized that the rear window was 75% detached and flopping around held by the defroster connection! I was able to safely come to a stop before it flew out or shattered. Chrysler explained to me that the 10 year 100,000 extended warranty for rear glass on Chrysler convertables does not apply to my VIN number? How can it apply to some and not all???? That is unacceptable there are many complaints for the same problem. They obviously know this is a known defect. Are they waiting to cause an accident where there is loss of life? Please help
I'm "copying/pasting" someone else's words as they have described exactly what I'm experiencing! I bought this vehicle in September, 2013 and have just now experienced the following problem. I've also done an online search & came across this site w/other complaints filed! I will keep looking for other sites to file the same complaint until something is done! "I own a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster (convertible). The glass in the rear window is separating from the canvas top. The top has no signs of damage in any other area. The dealer is telling me that it now needs a new top at a cost in excess of $2,000. After doing research, I discovered that this is a very common problem and appears to be a manufacturing defect in the adhesive used to connect the two pieces. …
While driving my car with the top up my rear window became detached. I took the car into the dealership and they informed me that even though the 2005 Crossfire Roadster was covered for the same problem they were not covering the 2006. I contacted Chrysler directly in July of 2014 they told me the same thing. I then had to make a temporary repair for $ 150 and in September 2014 had to replace the top for $ 2,457.62 at a shop recommended by the Chrysler dealership. So I am out of pocket $ 2,607. I contacted Chrysler again last week 5 23 2015 and they replied that since my vehicle was not built in 2005 they were still not covering it. This is a very dangerous problem experienced by numerous drivers. If this window were to come out while driving it could seriously injure or kill a pedestrian or other driver. Chrysler has covered the 2005 for this problem but not later models. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Crossfire Roadster. The contact stated that the rear windshield hung down inside the vehicle. The failure recurred continuously. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the adhesive was faulty and the roof needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I purchased this car this year from a Chrysler executive who has owned it for years. She told me that while driving it the rear glass window fell out. This was her daily driver so she had it re glued as fast as she could so she would have a car to get to work.she did not know of the TSB on this. TSB-23=035-11 called x-31/adhesion. I bought the car this year and the window is loose on the edges and I am afraid it will fall out and cause an accident. I took it to a dealer and they do not know what to do. They said because it was already fixed it would probably not be covered. Is this true? I bought this car to be a daily driver, not a sunny day driver.
I am one of those affected by the rear window falling out of the Chrysler Crossfire. At first they offered to get me a new top for $700. Goodwill they said. I told them I couldn't afford it. They wound up resending the offer and refused to help me at all. I try to reglue the window but it falls out again. I am in nj which is not one of the states they were helping people in. Please have Chrysler recall all crossfires for this known problem. Thanks.
