Manufactor claimed car was unsafe,2 hollowed out catalyst converters, fuel EVAP sys disconected, swaybar links disconected mushroomed from banging on axle. Dealer did charge me for smog. Dealer loans me a 1994 Ford truck I work and have children to get to school. …
While accelerating onto the freeway, at approx. 55mph, in very heavy traffic with many big-rigs in the mix, the "check engine" light came on and the car suddenly lost power and began to shudder/miss out when accelerating. I had to quickly navigate over 3 lanes of fast moving traffic to avoid being rear-ended. I was able to drive slowly to a repair shop, but the engine would not rev above 2200 RPM. The service shop has tried 4 times to repair the car, each time replacing various sensors that were indicated by the engine computer. After each repair, the car would run fine for 2-3 days before having the same failure. It is still not repaired. I feel this is a serious safety problem.
