Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that after purchasing the vehicle from an independent dealer, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer several times and the check engine warning light was reset; however, the check engine warning light immediately illuminated while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to another independent mechanic, and an OBD-II scanner was attached, and it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. At the time of purchase, the mileage was 112,000 and at the time it was discovered that the mileage was 192,000.

Service Stabilitrak, Power Steering light, Check Engine light. Door locks lock and unlock continuously. Randomly has No acceleration, causes jolting at a low speed. Available for inspection asap. The code "UO101" comes up in a diagnostic test. Overall, the car basically shuts down while driving at no specific speed. Safety of myself and others is at risk because this can cause an accident resulting in being rear ended/collision with car and other vehicles as it randomly happens when driving. I took my car to the dealership on 3/5/25 and expressed this issue and they could not diagnose it as it was not physically happening after I dropped it off to them. They had the car for 4 days and couldn't duplicate the issue. They gave back the car and told me there was no issue with the vehicle and it is continuing to happen again. …

While driving down the interstate at approximately 70 mph the equinox would locks would start to cycle and at the same time the service stabiltrak and service power steering line would come on and the vehicle would drastically slow to around 30-40 mph, almost causing an accident. This is a well known issue with Chevrolet and they have not tried to resolve the issue. This is going to cause major issues when someone gets in a wreck. There is no definite fix out there for this issue and Chevrolet needs to be held accountable for this and fix this issue.

purchased a 2014 Chevy Equinox from Direct Auto Sales on 03/07/26, and I am currently experiencing serious issues with the vehicle after only 2 months of purchase I noticed the vehicle is making a clicking and grinding sound the vehicle powers down when driving. The problem still exists even after multiple oil changes.

2014 Chevy Equinox will stall when accelerating. This happens at anytime while driving you go to accelerate and the car turns off, this could potentially cause an accident. I have taken my vehicle in numerous times and spent over 2K on repairs. Currently my vehicle does not have a check engine light on, no codes. It appears that everything is operating normally. It is not, I will not let my daughter drive this car because I am worried that she could be involved in an accident. I recently found that GM had identified that this vehicle consumes a large amount of oil and it causing issues similar to what I am reporting. Only issue is they are requiring a oil consumption test requiring multiple visits to the dealership over an extended period of time. Which I have done and they still say its not their problem. …

My husband and I bought brand new 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Thinking that this would be an investment as a reliable and safe family car, it has been nothing but a headache. It currently has less than 60K miles and it has engine failure problems and isn't drive-able... The engine unexpectedly lost power while my husband was driving down the 91 freeway from irvine to riverside around 70 MPH. The engine literally slowed to about 10-15 MPH. My husband is a decorated marine corps war veteran who has survive three tours in afghanistan, who would have thought that a humdrum commute to work almost cost him his life. And now the check engine light is on and I am too afraid to drive it. This life threatening situation is only the most significant sometimes the car get stuck in back up cam mode or the radio shut off randomly and refuses to come back on. …
