Traveling hiway on cruise. My 5.3l down shifted to accelerate to go up an incline. Shortly after that there was low to almost no power. Check engine light then came on. I was able to do 30mph on freeway to get it home. Took it to a local garage since gray Daniels chevy wouldn't service it since I recently transitioned to MS. The problem was the #4 lifter had collapsed. It costed me just shy of $4k out of pocket. I've read that this was a recall item for my vehicle, I was never notified. I would like to be compensated if this was indeed a recall item
Code p2128 Code p2122 Have replaced TPS, THROTTLE BODY, ACCELERATOR PEDAL ( 3) AND bypassed connectors WITH DIRECT WIRING from ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO ECM Continue to get codes with CHECK ENGINE LIGHT with DECREASED ENGINE POWER, CHECK STABILITRAK, and STABILITRAK DISABLED. HAVE TO CLEAR CODES WITH BLUEDRIVER MULTIPLE TIMES EVEN WHILE DRIVING SHORT DISTANCES AND SOMETIMES ON START UP.
I drove to work & parked my 2007 Avalanche in my employers truck garage as I do every day. I went into the office attended a job briefing & we put on our coveralls for work then we got ready to leave to go to the 1st jobsite but as soon as the 1st two coworkers walked out of the shop they turned around yelling that my truck was on fire. I didn't believe them at 1st because I had just parked like 15 minutes prior. Parked & not running. Well I looked and my whole engine compartment was full of flames. We used 4 fire extinguishers to put the fire out & the fire department arrived to finish. My vehicle was totalled & I only had liability insurance.
Vehicle caught on fire and/or exploded while sitting in apartment parking lot. Vehicle was not running and had been sitting for at least 30 minutes to an 1hr. Was in bedroom, when notified by the fire dept. That the vehicle was on fire.
There have been continual problems with the engine of my truck and I have found out since buying it there are severe problems with a lot of the engines of the 2007 Avalanche. The mechanic told me when we brought the truck in to find out why the engine had a hesitation in it, that we should hope it was the exhaust system seals needing to be replaced that caused the hesitation because the only other times he had seen this problem it was a manufacturing defect in the 2007 GMC engines that he had seen these problems with alot of the 2007 Chevy and GMC trucks including his own. We also about 2 months after buying the truck noticed that the truck was going through oil very quickly but the mechanic said that the seals weren't leaking so didn't know why we were burning oil so fast. The dash has cracked at the corner of the air bag and if there is an accident it could send shards flying. …
The engine has a hesitation due to a manufacuring problem it also uses more oil than it should between oil changes. Also having problem with the electrical system every time I turn around something stops working like the side mirror on the drivers side won't fold in like its supposed to and the backup sensor stopped working. Tried to get our mechanic to fix it but it needs a code to get into the electrical system and GM won't give it to anyone but thier own mechanics. So now we have to go to the dealership to have it fix which will cost alot more. About amonth after purchase the dash got a small crack around the passenger air bag. This is our second 2007 Avalanche the first one had no problems at all and I had no idea that this model had so many problems that the manufacturer won't fix. …
We were driving down i20 when we were coming off the off ramp and the stabilization light came on and we got to the stop sign to turn right and as were take off it shifted really bad out into 2nd it jerked really bad and we had no power we made it home and now it turns over but will not start. 2007 avalance it has 50,000 miles. I have been talking to other people on car gurus and there are thousand on that sight having the same problem were having. And the sad thing is we dont have the money to have our truck towed into town and get it fixed. Becasue they tells us that they have so many people having the same problem. I feel like GM should do a recall or people should be able to do a group lawsuit toward GM for such a big deal like this is. And also our dashes are all cracked down the middle. Which on that sight there are alot having same issue.
