The adhesive securing the 4 pieces of door trim is breaking down and the trim pieces will eventually fall off on their own, a potential hazard to other motorists depending on when and where it happens. These are supposed to be a no maintenance item. Reported to Chevrolet, case # 8-4199057982, and they do not seem to be concerned that this "life of the vehicle" installation is defective as the 3 year bumper-to-bumper warranty is expired. As a principle engineer in boeing's research and technology division (we test stuff to make sure it's safe), my informed opinion is the defect is caused by poor surface preparation prior to bonding, adhesive material used past it's working life, adhesive material past its shelf life, or use of an adhesive material which is not designed for the intended environment. …
I own a 2013 Chevy Avalanche. I have replaced all 4 chrome door handles due to them pulling away from the door where they attach at the rear portion.. This is a known and well documented problem with the body style. Today I had to pay to replace the drivers door handle for the 2nd time since I have owned the vehicle. I have now replaced 3 under warranty and had to pay for the other two. I am sure that this will continue to happen over the life of the vehicle and I don't feel I should have to pay every time an obvious manufacturers defect occurs.
Dash cracked right above passenger airbag deployment area. No discoloration in the area or any warning. One day fine, the next day a crack appeared. Truck was parked most of the day and my work commute is 6 miles round trip. I don't off road and I have normal sized tires so no vibration occurred.
Safety issue. Dash is cracking near airbag. This could possibly cause premature deployment of airbag or shrapnel from dash causing harm during deployment. Dash is also cracking over steering wheel area.
Cracks in dash cover around air bag and over instrument cluster. No hard road hits, no junk on the dash. Heard a rattle, looked up there and found the cracks. Thousands of incidents across internet. Seat tracks rough sliding and motor failure. Outside mirror motor failure. I am the only driver and dont move seats much. Lack of use kills motors? Rear window leaking water due to plastic frame shrinking, cracking and leaving a gap. Only took the window out once before finding it leaking 2 years later due to the plastic frame shrink and crack. Door handles paint falling off in flakes. Fronts replaced by dealer at 17K. 38K rear handles started doing it. Dealers unwilling to do anything after 36K. 78K on truck now, making last 575.00 payment this month and truck needs thousands in repairs. …
Got in to my car that morning and heard a rattling noise coming from my dash and came to find out my dash was cracked. I do nothing but highway driving so there were no extenuating circumstances to cause it. I take great care of my vehicles and have never had this happen before. I researched the problem and have come to find out that it is a Chevy issue that is not being disclosed or are they taking responsibility there are a number of websites with Chevy truck owners who have the same problem. I believe this needs to be addressed by your organization on the behalf of the thousands of Chevy truck owners who need the issue rectified .
Our new 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche was involved in a major accident (not our fault) and it sustained frame damage. After using a GM dealer for repairs to our vehicle and returning it three times it still was returned to us in an unsafe condition which put our family in a potentially position which could of caused another crash and injury or death. We decided to get our vehicle put on another frame machine for another opinion. The measurements were reported to be not within specifications and measure as follows. The frame has visible damage. The front section of the frame is swayed to the right. Just behind the front bumper mounts the frame rails are swayed 12mm. To the right. At the control arm mounting points, the frame is also swayed 15mm to the right. It was recommended to re-frame this vehicle. …
