Tl contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van with delta esteem xle tires. Within a month after two tires were purchased by the same manufacture. He was traveling at 75 MPH the vehicle started to severely shake. He pulled over to inspect the tires but was unable to find the failure. He then preceded to drive at 50 MPH and took the vehicle straight to a dealer. The mechanic there inspected the vehicle and noticed severe thread separation and bubbles on the side of the front driver side tire. The tire was then replaced. A few months later he was traveling at 75mph when the vehicle started shaking. Before attempting to pull over to the side of the road the remaining delta tire that was located on the front passenger side blew out. Defects listed as AWD and transfer case May be same problem and were experienced from the first 300 miles and on (upon slowing down or accelerating a "clunk" was heard and felt from the front end also when cornering the vehicle "lurched/wheels grabbed" like it was stuck in 4wd. In July immediatly after it had been into the dealer to be serviced again the brakes caused the van to pull left at 35-50 MPH and when slowed for corners would sound like "loose parts rubbing together". In August of 1999 (just before the replacement transfer case came in) van hit loose gravel traveling at 45-50 MPH, pulled onto soft shoulder, forward about 12 ft, caught traction and came up on road, front left wheel was off ground when it came down the tire popped off the bead, wheel ground into pavement, flipping van on front, left side/corner, then onto hood and windshield, then onto full right side then …
On the way home from a conference I noticed my left tire making noise, I inspected it visually and found no obvious problems, I proceeded home and had a blow out of the tire which I found out later to be related to a defective idler arm. This in turn caused me to havea accident with damage to my van and another car. At 57000 (approxiamate) miles the idler arm should not have been worn that severely to cause an accident. I would like to see someone investigate this problem and see if other Astro vans have had this problem before. Thank you.

While parked the left front tire deflated. The tire was inspected and it was determined that a tire bead had separated. These tires were manufactured by Michelin uniroyal; model name tiger paw; tire size p21575r15. The manufacture felt it was due to a flawed mounting procedure.
