Car was purchased used with 10,000 mi. Within 1 year, about 13,000 mi. Bubbles appeared on 2 Goodyear runflat tires, due to potholes. After replacing 2 tires, I replaced all 4 with Bridgestone runflats. No issues with Bridgestone tires. Goodyears are not good, and should not be used on these cars.

I ran over a small pothole and my Goodyear ls2 tire immediately developed a bubble in the sidewall making the tire unsafe to drive on. These tires have less than 20,000 miles on them and this is the 2nd time that this same defect appeared in a tire on this car. The car has a design defect thats either in the tire construction or in the specification of this tire on this wheel. In addition, I have the 19 inch tire size which is not available anywhere but the BMW dealer for $450 each. BMW has in effect cornered the aftermarket on this 19 inch replacement tire. This is a dangerous and costly situation for consumers. NHTSA should do something about this. …
