What owners report

In the short period of time I've owned my 2011 335xi, I have had to -have the tire pressure monitor reset to factory settings because it kept coming on even though my tires were fine. Disconcerting at best when you're a single woman commuting at high speeds every day on a turnpike in traffic. -continually replace burned out daytime running or rear brake bulbs -deal with an ongoing surge or lurching when I start from a stop, worse when the A/C is on, that repair shops still can't pinpoint -replace the front control arm bushings -replace the water pump and thermostat (and worry about possible engine damage from the overheated engine; car had to be towed on my way home from work) -replace the starter -replace the engine tension belt -I will soon have to replace leaking oil filter housing gasket -and I have a probable radiator leak, as I'm refilling coolant approximately every 4 weeks (to …

I ordered a brand new 2011 BMW 335i xdrive and it was delivered on April 19, 2010. The 2011 model year came out early. On feb 20, 2012 I had a difficult time starting the engine after sitting overnight...it would take too long to start, cranking for a long time. Brought it to BMW in warwick ri and they ran short tests and found nothing wrong. Another time I would smell a strong odor of gasoline and I was not by any gas stations or other cars. Brought it to the same service center and they could not find anything wrong. Another time my car stalled out unexpectedly, but was able to start it again. This week on May 21st 2015 dropped the car off to have another tire replaced because I hit a pothole (8 tires replaced in 34,500 files, 4 replacement tires due to potholes). I also complained about the car taking too long to crank over 1st time in the morning. …

My 2010 BMW 335xi (3,500 miles) suddenly stalled on wa highway 520, on the lake washington bridge in the middle of rush hour traffic due to hpfp failure. There was a malfunction warning on the nav display, stating that only limited engine power was available, when two seconds later the engine stalled, losing power steering and brakes as well. I was going approx. 25 MPH in heavy traffic entering the bridge that has no shoulder. I was blocking one of two eastbound lanes and posed a significant safety risk. I was able to restart the engine and go for approx. 50 yards before the engine stalled again. Doing so 4-5 times I reached the midspan turnout and stopped in an extremely dangerous spot. I called roadside assistance when a dot truck approached and pushed me off the remainder of the bridge. I was in an extremely unsafe position for approx. 30 minutes! …

BMW issued a recall - si b13 14 10 - and it covers replacing injectors, if the car falls under a certain date and has a certain batch of injector. Most importantly, on the bottom of the recall bulletin states: "warranty info" - and it specifically says, "the repair described in this bulletin is covered under warranty regardless of time or mileage." the car had the injector(s) fail a few weeks ago, and vehicle is currently at stevens creek BMW. The dealers/manufacturer are refusing to honor the recall notice that I handed to them - even though it specifically states there is no time limit or mileage limit to replacing the injectors... 3 of the injectors were replaced several years ago, but 3 were not, and the injector that failed is part of the batch that should have been replaced but the technician decided not to years ago. …

Car taken to dealer for rough idle and poor performance. Told that issue was with fuel coils. Paperwork states that coils need to be replaced. Deferred as one of the could had already been replaced. On way home car began to emit white smoke. Car unable to accelerate. High pressure fuel pump already replaced. High risk for accident for ultimately turned out to be 5 failed fuel injectors. BMW knows about this issue but will not address for recall. This is not an uncommon occurrence per multiple web searches.

My car hasn't start up for 2 years now. 1st it started with a dead starter, then alternator, then the radiator and water pump bursted, and as i was standing outside of my car the passenger air bag deploys while the car was off and key out of the ignition. Luckily no one was in my car but now my car doesn't and wont crank or turnover, it makes a buzzing noise for a split second when i hit the start/stop button and thats all. I'm getting full voltage to it. Every time i run my scanner, i get different codes every time, i bought a 2nd scanner (carly) to compare and both threw out different codes every time but the main ones was the starter and pcv code; which i got 3 different starters put in, all new and the code was still ahowing. Ive spent more time researching and more money buying parts to fix my car then what I bought the car for which was $6k. …
