The contact owns a 2007 Acura TL. The contact stated that multiple cracks had formed on the dashboard, exposing the passenger's side air bag. The contact owns a 2007 Acura TL. The contact stated that the hard-plastic dashboard material cracked near and around the location of the air bag. The contact was concerned about a safety hazard should the air bag deploy. The cause of the cracking was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the issue, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Well today I took my Acura TL type s for a carwash as usual and as I was parking on the shade I notice a small crack on the right hand side front passenger airbag on the dashboard and as I drove home and park in the garage the crack had gotten bigger and now I'm scared that the airbag might just pop out anytime. So I did some research in a popular website called acurazine where it's a community of hondas and acuras owners and im not the only one with this problem so maybe you guys could do a recall. Thank you for your time
TL* the contact owns a 2007 Acura TL. The contact noticed that the passenger side dashboard contained wide cracks. The contact was concerned that the air bag could deploy. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000. The VIN was not available.
Initially I observed a airline sized crack on passenger side of the dashboard right on airbag. Slowly it enlarged and now I see another crack around the same area. When I checked online, I found that it's not only me but several others have the same issue with Acura tls. When I went tithe dealership they say the repair cost is about 2,000 usd.
TL* the contact owns a 2007 Acura TL. The contact stated that the passenger side dashboard experienced multiple cracks where the passenger side air bag was located. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000.
Passenger dash above airbag, is cracked. The crack began as a single perforation, coming from the windshield direction outward, directly above where the airbag is housed. One day to the next it just appeared. It began with a single crack in July 2017, now in nov 2017, an identical crack lays adjacent to the first, approx. 6 inches apart. I use a sunshade whenever I'm not utilizing a covered parking spot. I've never left my car without a shade during any hot days (leather seats get far too hot to sit on even wearing pants, let along shorts or skirts). I've taken my vehicle into 2 different Acura dealerships, who've quoted $2,000+ to replace, with zero help from Acura since there's not an active recall. I've had to restrict all passengers to sit in my back seat, which according to my grandmother, "is disrespectful & demeaning". …
I recently purchased a 2007 Acura TL type s with 42378 miles on the odometer. Upon getting home, I found out that the dashboard was cracked in three (3) places. Fortunately for me, the car was still under warranty so I took it in to Acura dealership to get the dashboard replaced. While at the dealership I found some other customers with the same issue. I later found out that this was common problem with the Acura TL especially in the southern states. Another issue I'm experiencing is with the 3rd gear which I also found out to be common with the acuras. Sometimes while driving, the stick would not go into 3rd gear smoothly or sometimes it just pops out of the 3rd gear. The third and final complaint that I have read about and starting to experience is rattling. …
I own a 2007 Acura TL-navi. The front doors of the car are large and heavy. The part or parts of the door hinge mechanism which are supposed to hold the front doors in the open position when entering or exiting the vehicle appear to be under-designed for their intended purpose. As a result, the doors often close unexpectedly with significant force, and can seriously injure a hand or leg. The problem is especially severe when the car is parked in an uphill position, as the force of gravity causes the front doors to slam shut. I request that NHTSA require the manufacturer to re-design the hinge mechanism (or other parts that are defective) and offer them to owners at no charge.
The dash board cracked on my 2007 Acura TL. The cracks are above the steering wheel and around the passenger airbag. Acura said they will not replace this because the car is out of warranty. This is obviously at no fault or abuse and it is clearly a defect that such a new car has this problem. I have read numerous posts online about this same problem and it should be classified as a manufacturer defect.
