My issue is with the liftgate on all Acura models including my own RDX. I was sitting on the edge of the van with the liftgate fully opened taking off my spikes after golfing. I inadvertantly triggered the fob in my pocket when i leaned forward causing the liftgate to close. At first i did not realize it was closing on me ,but jumped up and it caught me on my upper back. I avoided serious injury. Brought it to the dealership and it appears to be common to all makes of acura with liftgates. Serious pressure has to be put on the liftgate in order for it to stop . Page 177 of my manual states the if the liftgate detects resistance it will reverse itself. We tested it at the dealership and a great amount of pressure has to be used for it to stop and reverse. This is a serious defect and needs correction before someone gets seriously injured. …
On September 3, 2026 at approximately 1 AM, my 2023 Acura RDX A-Spec was stolen from my residence while both of my authorized keys were in my possession. The exterior driver-door key cylinder showed evidence of forced manipulation/damage. Despite the vehicle being locked, the factory theft-deterrent alarm did not activate and I did not receive an AcuraLink theft/alarm notification. The vehicle was successfully entered, started, and driven away without an authorized key in the thief's possession. After the vehicle was recovered, I contacted Acura Client Relations because I am concerned that the factory theft-deterrent/immobilizer system did not prevent the vehicle from being started and the alarm did not activate during the unauthorized entry. Acura has not identified the method by which the vehicle was started or provided an explanation for the reported non-activation of the alarm. …
The contact owns a 2021 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the front headlights and instrument panel lights started blinking off and on. The vehicle was later towed to the local dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the body control module had malfunctioned due to water intrusion from the moon roof seals. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.
The panoramic sunroof exploded on our Acura RDX model 2021. Me, my wife and our 3 month old son were returning from dinner, we took the ramp and about to merge on a highway then we heard a loud and sudden explosive noise which scared all of us. Thank God we had the sunroof blind partially closed over the real infant seat, so the glass shatters left some minor cuts on my left forearm and back (glass pieces got between my back and driving seat). Also, the glass pieces did cut the sunroof blind/rolling cloth screen. We are glad that we made home safe and not sure what is the process of getting the issue fixed by the manufacturer and thorough cleaning up of the glass remains/dust. Please advise.
"I went to my garage to get my car and off to work supposedly, I put my bag inside the car back set and close it after that I heard a crinkling and shattering noise. When I checked around I saw the rear windshield of my car is totally shattered before I get in the vehicle and before starting. It sounded as if something was in the rear of the vehicle. The entire rear window glass was shattered. There was no impact, no foreign object hit it, etc. It simply shattered while sitting in the driveway, with the vehicle off, when I closed the door. " I cleaned my car last night and no indentation or any crack or line on the window but the shattered line is ALL OVER THE REAR WINDOW literally. And per my research, says that tons of ACURA RDX 2019 and UP models have this kind of sudden shuttering of the rear window without any hit. This is very dangerous .. …
When this RDX's weight distribution shifts/flexes from turning out of a driveway or any parking entrance with an incline/decline the panoramic moonroof makes a popping sound across the rear of the moonroof. This occurs from both rear corners of the moonroof. The moonroof frame may be knocking around the body of the car due to lack of insulation or the moonroof frame not fitting properly. The problem appears to be fairly widespread with some owners on the Acura Forum site, Acurazine, claiming the popping actually shattered the moonroof glass while driving. The popping sound that I experience daily, combined with the countless similar complaints is what has prompted me to file this complaint. https://acurazine.com/forums/third-generation-rdx-2019-454/panoramic-sunroof-popping-982149/ Hopefully this can lead to an investigation and recall. Thank you.
After my shift at work. I got in my 2019 ACURA RDX and closed the door. Right when the door closed the rear tailgate glass shattered. Leaving a big hole in the glass on my drive home. While it kept breaking into thousands of smaller pieces while driving home. Mind you I live in Chicago and the temperature was 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Called my insurance company to file a claim. Had the rear glass replaced by Safelite after a week and half. But the tiny pieces that broke off fell inside the tailgate and now when I raise the tailgate/hit a bump/ turn the vehicle I hear the pieces of glass that fell inside the tailgate moving around. I was told there was no way to remove this.
While we were driving we heard what sounded like a shot, when we pulled over we noticed the rear window was shattered, and noticed nothing had gone through or hit it After inspecting it. My daughter was scared to stay in the car so we had to call someone to pick them up and give them a ride. The dealership told me my vehicle is no longer under warranty only drivetrain warranty and that it was not their problem to call my insurance is what I got told. Hundreds of others have had the same issue after doing some research online. There was no warning or cracking of any kind before this. Incident happened on 11/17/24 at 7:45pm
