I got new tires and took the car for an alignment. I am constantly having to slightly correct my steering wheel. One to three degrees to the left and right at any speed the entire time I am driving. It was setup for the diagnostic test and the technician came back in less than five minutes. To tell me that there is nothing wrong with my alignment and everything was at factory spec. So I told him to drive it and tell me that there is nothing wrong with my car. He came back looking shocked and said that was weird. Like driving on wet glass. So he started to ask me questions. My answers to the question were. I am the original owner, never been in an accident with the car or hit debris of any kind. Tires are brand new, no check engine or warning lights. Diagnostic scanner to the OBD port came back with no problems. Car had 25,000 miles on it at the time. …
2019 TOYOTA YARIS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY. In early 2000 the battery went dead, and the car could not even be removed from the garage. Called the dealership and they were kind enough to send a tow truck, and the driver was able to get car on the truck and took it directly to the dealership. It was examined and a new battery was put in at no cost to me. TS THE CONSUMER STATED THE BATTERY WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A RECALL LIST FOR ANOTHER FAILURE BUT, THERE WAS NO REMEDY.
I was driving approximately 20 MPH making a left turn when the car abruptly powered down the inside lights, outside lights, heat, etc turned off. The vehicle continued to make loud noises as if I was trying to start the car, but I had taken the key out of the ignition. I then noticed the battery warning light was on and then I smelled smoke. I was stuck in the intersection with the car stuck in park I kept pressing the brake, to shift to neutral but the car wouldn't change gears or even turn on at this point. I continued to smoke and I smelled fire so I grabbed all of my things and exited the vehicle. It was raining and a good samaritan popped the hood and the hard cold rain put out the fire. I waited until a tow truck told the car to the dealer. I was told that the battery and starter caught on fire.
Was driving on the freeway at 70 MPH and had to brake for slower traffic ahead. When I depressed the brake pedal, the ABS system engaged, braking the left side of the car, then the right almost sending me off the road. After this had happened, the speedometer had started jumping to different speeds very rapidly and I was unable to tell my correct speed. The antilock brakes have continued to engage randomly when they are not needed, cause loss of braking control and the overall ability to come to a stop. The speedometer also jumps around every now and then. The ABS light was only triggered once, and then turned off.
Malfunctioning components 1. Door locks do not lock all the time when the lock button is pressed. 2. Randomly I will find my doors unlocked, when I closed them when I got out. 3. Doors unlock by themselves and that poses a problem for me and my family. To be able to figure out the issue I have to take it to the dealer where they charge an arm and a leg to diagnose the issue, due to Covid-19 and the hardship it has caused my family I don't have the funds to do that. Somebody has to push the dealers to help the consumers out for a change. Thank you.
I got in my car, started the engine, immediately I started smelling strong burning smell. Than started seeing smoke from the driver door. Within few seconds I started seeing flames. Since I was already on the road, I couldn't just stop the car. The flame got bigger and bigger, in the car cabin, it was fill with burning smoke. I tried to roll down the window, it didn't want to work. I has a cup of coffee in the car, I poured it on the flame and it subsided a little. Than the flamed started to get bigger again and started melting the interior panel of the door including everything around the inner door handle. I parked as soon as I was able to and took a cloth and tried to wrap around the handle to open the door, but couldn't. It was too hot and flames were burning. So I crawled over the the passenger seat and got out of the car. …
