Wheels & tires
Leased a new 2000 Toyota Solara convertible in July 2000. Took car for all required maintneance checks. After only 20,000 miles was informed that all 4 tires were completely unsafe for driving. If I had not had car serviced I would have driven new car and was in danger of a fatal accident. Tires usually are safe at such a short amount of miles. I want to report this to you so that others are advised to check their Toyota Bridgestone tires. It could save their lives. Also I would like to know if there have been many accidents due to these Toyota Bridgestone tires and should Toyota stop using them on their cars and let their current customers know to have their tires checked. It was the Toyota dealership that discovered my badly worn and unsafe tires.
Complaint against costco automobile tires: purchased 4 costco tires in 2006. They were filled with nitrogen. Not told that all air must be nitrogen air put in tires. Filled tired with regular air. Major car problems with shaking of steering and fumes and smell and tires hot to touch. Told by mechanic that when I put in air in nitrogen filled costco tires it caused a chemical reaction. Major safety issue. Thankful I was lucky, but who will be the next victim and will they be so lucky? Something needs to be done to hold costco accountable for filling tires with nitrogen as it is a safety issue. They should fill with air as with industry standard.
Engine & cooling
Am experiencing sludge build up in the engine of my 2000 Toyota Camry Solara. This vehicle was a previously owned when I purchased it on March 17, 2016. At time of purchase I requested a carfax report. My choice to purchase was made upon report details I.e. Repair & maintenance records, including routine oil changes. The carfax report specified all preventative maintenance had been applied to this vehicle and was up to date. There were no known manufacture recalls and/or issues on this vehicle. At the time of purchase I was unaware of any troublesome issues on this make & model, nor with its engine model. After my own extensive research before shopping for my 2nd preowned Toyota I never did come across any such information regarding problems/recalls & would have never made this purchase. …
