Car was traveling between 40-45mph, on a major two lane road. Pavement was wet. Car in front stopped fast, Suzuki rear ended that vehicle. Driver only occupant in car Suzuki-air bag did not deploy. Front of car crushed back to engine, engine mount broken.
I have a Suzuki/Forenza 2007 and on Monday 02/01/2010 while on my way to work I was involved in a car accident while in the turnpike north. I was going at about 60 to 65 miles/hour and another driver lost control of his car because of the rain and I hit him at that speed. It was a head collision/ t bone like and even though the front end of the car was all crashed including the hard bumper the air bags on my car did deploy. I do believe that there is something wrong with this system in this car. Updated 02/26/10 the consumer stated the vehicle was declared a total loss. The engine was cracked. The main support frame that held the vehicle at the bottom was bent and the air bags did not deploy. Updated 04/29/10.

The vehicle was completely destroyed and was towed to the collision center. The failure and current mileages were 38,000.
Tl contact owns a 2007 Suzuki Forenza. While seated in the passenger seat with her daughter seated in the driver's seat, the contact smelled a burning smell coming from the driver's side of the vehicle. The contact exited the vehicle and went around the vehicle to help her paraplegic daughter exit the vehicle. Before she could reach her daughter, the air bag deployed and struck her in the back, upper shoulder, and neck region. The paramedics were called and gave her an ice pack. The contact informed her to go to her doctor's office for further evaluation. The failure mileage was 39,841.
Was hit by a Pontiac on the passenger side of the vehicle and the air bags did not go off. The manual states that I have air bags that are in the passenger and driver seats that are supposed to go off if an accident occurs. Due to this, my passenger and I suffered injuries that could have been fatal, if I had not tried to avoid the accident. Also, the center console broke during the accident, causing the gear shift to stick, and when you turn the engine off, it won't go all the way off until you jerk the gear shift toward the driver seat.
