Owner reports
Selected complaints filed with NHTSA by 2007 Saturn Sky owners, lightly cleaned up (personal details are redacted by NHTSA).
HVAC blower motor stopped working via the control knob. Through online forums & repair guides, I did some troubleshooting to determine which component I might need to order (i.e. fuse, relay, blower motor assembly, blower resistor, etc). During that research, many others noted that the blower resistor is known to become defective, and that melting of the resistor & the harness connector are common. This is exactly the situation I found, and it is not at all unreasonable to conclude that this could have easily resulted in a fire. These same parts are shared by the Pontiac Solstice and the Hummer H3 (for which, I believe, a recall was issued). The parts to fix this problem are not overly expensive & readily available -- and the replacement process is not difficult. …
After a GM ignition recall on Saturn Sky--we received notice and took our car to the GM shop to do the work. However now the "airbag warning light" stays on---we did much research and replaced the passenger side seat cushion and sensor-----this did not result in the airbag warning light going off--we took it to the GM dealer to do a diagnostic to see why the seat/sensor replacement did not fix the problem and they state the seat is properly installed and it is not causing the airbag warning light issue---but they did not tell us what was the diagnosed problem. Many Saturn Sky owners have written to you and are very concerned about the safety of their families, the fact they cannot pass state required safety inspections; which renders their GM product completely useless. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Saturn Sky. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall regarding the ignition, but the repair was insufficient. The contact stated that the key became stuck in the ignition. The contact would have to place the vehicle in reverse and wait 45 minutes to an hour before the key could be removed. As a result, the vehicle battery was drained of power. The contact purchased the vehicle from beau townsend Ford (102 w national road, vandalia, ohio, [phone]) who performed the initial recall repair. The dealer stated that the recall repair was completed prior to the contact purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 148,000.

The driver sustained injuries to the back. The vehicle was destroyed and a police report was not filed. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 14V171000 (electrical system) was received March 2012 however, the dealer had advised that the part was not available and placed the contact on a waiting list. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure and the current mileage was 70,000. Updated 08/14/2014
HVAC connector wire failure. GM part 25797383. Known issue and recall with Hummer h3 and reported issue with Saturn Sky and Pontiac solstice. 2007 Saturn Sky redline presented with HVAC blower failure. Upon inspection an overheated, melted and blackened wiring harness detector was identified as the cause of the failure. Research confirmed that this is a frequent problem with this connector. GM has replaced the part with part number 25949869. A recall for the Saturn Sky or Pontiac solstice has not been issued.
Typical engineered problems @ low mileage: seat air bag sensor, dash info lights, check engine light and extremely noisy ac system. A recall would be nice, but the car is an orphan. (a discontinued vehicle, with little support.) safe at any speed ?
The wiring for the HVAC blower motor melted at the connection to the resistor pack that controls the blower motor speed. You could smell melting plastic. Luckily this did not start the wiring harness on fire as the fuse for the circuit did not open. Further investigation shows this is be a known problem on Hummer h3, Saturn Sky, and Pontiac solstice vehicle also as they share the same parts in model years 2006 - 2010. Http://parts.nalleygmc.com/products/Hummer/2010/h3/harness-chassisengine-wiring-harness/3041298/25867517.html this problem is so well known, and widespread people have devised there own fix for this issue. …

Passenger seat airbag warning light stays off, does not go to on position when seat is occupied.service airbag soon warning light appears on instrument panel. Had system diagnosed , found that the pass. Seat presence module is faulty. And needs to be replaced,. This is a critical safety issue and not, an isolated issue with these vehicles and should be recalled by GM and replaced at no cost to me.please do the right thing and correct this issue!!
I received notice that my vehicle had been recalled and contacted my dealer "airport Chevrolet" in medford oregon for an appointment to get it repaired. It has now been about two months and the dealer is still claiming that they have not received the necessary parts. It seems to me that general motors is dragging their feet, two months is longer than it takes to receive a special order car.
