The problem
Vehicle description: electric vehicles. The program logic for the motor electronic control unit (ECU) can mistakenly detect a failure of an electrical current sensor at speeds above 50 MPH. If this occurs, the ECU quickly reduces vehicle speed in order to maintain proper feedback control.
The risk
This can result in a sudden loss of power and unexpected deceleration that could cause a rear-end collision.
The fix
Dealers will upgrade the ECU .
