Ford Recall 26V-650: Back over prevention – camera

Affected: 2015 Ford Transit Connect. Filed with NHTSA on October 6, 2026, covering about 506 vehicles.

The problem

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015 Transit Connect vehicles that were previously remedied under NHTSA recall number 25V572. The rearview camera may display a distorted, inverted, intermittent, or blank image when the vehicle is in reverse.

The risk

A rearview camera that displays an inverted, distorted, intermittent, or blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

The fix

Dealers will replace the rearview camera as necessary, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed in October 14, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in December 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S73. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on October 7, 2026.
