Chevrolet Recall 04V-302: Power train – automatic transmission

Affected: 2005 Chevrolet Equinox. Filed with NHTSA on June 30, 2004, covering about 132 vehicles.

The problem

Certain sport utility vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 114, 'theft protection.' an ignition key park lock cable end fitting was not fully seated on the automatic transmission shifter nail head during installation.

The risk
