Front Control arm broke at the frame. There is a recall for this control arm issue for a 2002 Bravada but, my vin was not included. 01V126000 is the NHTSA. The control arms fractured causing separation from the frame. Bravada is at service shop and they have confirmed the frame separation from control arm. This is very dangerous and has caused it to be unsafe and deadly.
Tl* the contact owns a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada. The contact stated that driving at various speeds, an abnormal noise occurred. The contact placed the vehicle in gear and there was lateral movement of both rear wheel without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that both driver's and passenger's side rear suspension outer link brackets were severely corroded, and the front control arms needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but no further assistance was taken. The contact mentioned NHTSA campaign number: 01V126000 (suspension) as a possible solution to the failure for the front suspension however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 129,300.

I bought a used car from the dealer, but the car has a problem. The salesman who sold me the car at the dealer told me that they were going to fix it and they tried to fix it 4 times already. After 4 tries the problem is still there. I think they are waiting for the 30 day guarantee to end before I do anything about it, so then I need to pay for the repairs myself. They keep telling that the car is fixed, but the problem is still there. I can feel the problem every time I drive, and they admit that they can feel it as well, when they test drive the car.
While driving at 55mph, rear wheels felt as if they locked, vehicle began to fishtail or swerve in rear end. The vehicle accelerated over the median and hit an oncoming vehicle. Neither drivers side nor passengers side airbags deployed. Consumer states that the roads were wet and it felt as though the rear tire hit a water pocket, consumer states that vehicles brake or AWD system failed also due to the skid marks, there were four injuries in the accident.
1999 Oldsmobile Bravada - front left control arm ball joint broke. Result in front suspension collapsing. Top of tire went inward. My vehicle was built in May 1999 at general motors plant in moriane, ohio. Research on the internet show this problem has existed on this and similar GM vehicles since 1996. A recall was done on them. (GM recall bulletin ? Subject 01048a ? Upper ball joint separation issued October, 2001) (also reference odi action number rq02-012) however I called Oldsmobile ([phone]) and they said no recall on my car was issued. I was told recalls are done on individual cars, not lots of cars, as I would have expected. Further research show cars in this part of the county where salt is used on roads in the winter have a high probability of this problem developing. …
Tl* the contact owns a 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the passengers side rear axle broke and the rear passenger wheel fell off. The contact stated that the vehicle flipped, causing the air bags to deploy. The contact sustained major injuries that required medical condition. A police report was filed. The vehicle was destroyed. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same failures as listed in recall NHTSA campaign number: 98V053000 (suspension). However, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
I purchased my 1998 Bravada 4/02 and since then have had nothing but problems. The upper and lower ball joints have been replaced twice (they were replaced and approx 2 weeks later I was having the same problems again and I was told the parts were "faulty"). I had the same problems with the brakes--had them fixed , then had problems again, took it back and again it was blamed on "faulty" parts. The brakes still squeak badly, so I'm sure I will hear again that I had "faulty" parts. The tread on the front tires wore unevenly (they were pro-rated 80,000 mile tires and after less than 3,000 miles the inner edges were completly bald). So of course, the tires were supposedly "faulty". The ignition module goes out every 6 months with out fail. …
