I was driving around a curve on a city street when my driver side front coil spring snapped impacting the tire causing my vehicle to swerve over a median sustaining major damages to the undercarriage and body of the vehicle. Recall # 15V573000

NHTSA recall 17v-637 - has already been issued for this exact issue. My daughter was driving this car in the snow in wilkes-barre, pa and made a right hand turn in a residential neighborhood (approx 15 MPH), felt a jolt on the right side front wheel, then the steering became very difficult. She took the car to a mechanic in wilkes-barre, pa (where she has been in college for the last 2.5 years) and was told that both front coil spring had ruptured in her 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback. We have since discovered that this exact issue on this exact vehicle is damaging and dangerous enough to issue the recall referred to above. I proceeded to complete the "Nissan Versa model year 2012 hatchback front coil spring safety recall campaign form" with all the necessary documentation and sent it to Nissan America. I was contacted and told that my VIN number was not included in the recall. …

I had the exact same issue as a recall that was supposedly solved 11 days before my car was manufactured. My car has been on the road for less than 5 years (it will be 5 years this December) and is still under 60,000 miles (it has about 52,000). Both of the front springs recently broke, and I am from one of the states who issued a recall for Nissan versas manufactured from 2006- November 11, 2012 (mine was manufactured on November 23, 2012). This type of issue cannot be caused by user error, and the recall that does not cover my vehicle specifically mentioned that the front springs could be corroded by salt on the road for things like snow- something that is a big issue in my state. I believe that the springs should be covered and/or recalled at less than 5 years or 60,000 miles, especially so soon after they allegedly fixed/changed the part outlined in the recall. …

My car has a little over 56,000 miles on it and since having this car I have had several issues with this car. I have taken it to the dealer for repair of the mass air flow and related components on 3 separate occasions. I have had 1 CVT transmission replacement and knows seems like something is going on with the suspension. After doing research, I have found several complaints and a service bulletin for this same issues which is sasid to be the spring coils. This is ridiculous to have this many issues with a car that is only 3 years old and less than 60,000 miles on it. Nissan needs to offer every customers that owns this car a replacement car.seriously!!! Not to mention all the other recalls that never get associated with your VIN but, still has the issues.

While pulling into a parking space with my steering wheel turned sharply to the left I heard a loud metal thump in the right front wheel well. The next day at the service shop I was told that I had a broken right front spring that had compromised my strut. The whole repair ended up costing me $749. It is important to note that drive a 2012 Versa with only 56,753 miles on it! There is no way that this spring should have broken! I didn't hit any bumps or potholes, I was just pulling into a parking space. Had this happened at highway speed and popped a tire or severed a brake line a serious accident could have occurred. There is obviously a defect in the springs that are being used, Nissan needs to seriously look into this issue.

2012 nissa Versa hatchback. Front driver's side suspension spring broke Sunday, April 16th, 2017. Vehicle's odometer was just over 56,000 miles at the time. Travelling for the weekend, put on about 70 miles before it broke. The spring broke while in park. Unbeknownst to me at the time, this spring was part of recall 15V573000. I had never received any notification regarding this recall, so I had the vehicle serviced at a local shop. Then, after later learning of the recall, I contacted Nissan multiple times requesting any form of reimbursement, even partial reimbursement. I was denied because the repair work had not been done by them. They claimed they were "not in a position" to offer any type of reimbursement.

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 Nissan Versa. While driving various speeds, there was an abnormal popping noise emitting from the front passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired per NHTSA campaign number: 15V573000 (suspension); however, the repair failed to remedy the vehicle. The contact was concerned that the abnormal popping noise was associated with the recall repair. The dealer diagnosed that the protective plastic cover under the vehicle had loosened and needed to be torqued to specifications. The contact stated that the plastic cover was tightened to specifications, but the noise was still evident. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

Both front coil springs snapped while backing out of a parking space where the vehicle was parked for 1 week. There is a recall for this exact problem.(recall #15V573000) this recall was expanded in 2017 (recall # 17V637000) the recall is for cars sold in new york state, however even though my vehicle was sold in new york state, my VIN number was not included in the recall. The recall is for the possibility of road salt corroding the springs, causing them to break. This car is driven in upstate new york and this is likely the cause of the problem on my vehicle. I would request that this recall be expanded to include vehicles manufactured at the same time as my vehicle and sold in new york state.

Backing out of parking spot, turning left, the front coil springs (both driver and passenger side) broke. The Nissan dealer replaced both front coil springs. There is an NHTSA case open (recently open- case # pe 15-019) to investigate front coil springs breaking. The NHTSA case states Nissan Versa model years 2008 to 2010 are under investigation. My Nissan Versa is a 2012 model year/hatch back. The coil springs breaking are not limited to the 2008 to 2010 model years. I'm located in Canada, just wanted to share this info with the NHTSA. Nissan Canada took almost 10 weeks to replace the coil springs. They cited a parts manufacturing problem with their supplier in Japan.
