The coil spring on the passenger side front broke almost spearing my tire as I was about to back out of my garage. This vehicle sits in a garage all year round and is used daily. Luckily I did not make it out of my driveway or I May have gotten hurt at 65 MPH or worse gotten someone else hurt because of this manufactures defect.
Tl* the contact owns a 2008 Nissan Versa. While making a left turn into the driveway, the front driver side wheel detached and became lodged in the tire well. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
Takata recall I was notified last summer about a recall on the air bag and was told not to have passengers in the vehicle due to the potentially fatal flaw. This is my only vehicle and I have a family that needs rides. I contacted the dealer recently and was told they don't have the parts and that Nissan wasn't allowing them to order the parts. I contacted Nissan and they tell me the parts are not available until some time in 2017. This is unacceptable that they are aware of the risk and are not expediting this repair to be performed. They basically give me the impression they don't care and they are not in a hurry to get this done. I expected this potential fatal flaw in the vehicle to be repaired asap not when they feel like it. …
This is my first new car I have ever own and have put more money into it then any of my old cars. About a month after I bought it in April of 2010 I immediately had problems with the tires and hubcaps. One of my hubcaps fell off and I had to replace it. It fell off due to a clip that was initially missing on it when I first bought it. Following that came my tire problems. For the past 7 months I have dealt with tire pressure problems. As a matter of fact I have been getting my tires refilled about two times a week. Finally I decided to have them resealed(cost 27$ a tire) and as they were doing that they found that my tire pressure sensor inside the tire was corroded. Therefore I had to spend 97$ and have them replace this because it was beyond saving. Two days later I ended up back at the tire place for them to tell me that I need to replace more sensors. …
Tl contact owns a 2008 Nissan Versa. The contact stated that the hubcaps were only removed by the dealer when the tires were rotated. While driving 70 MPH, the rear driver's side hubcap came off. He approached the dealer for assistance and they refused to replace the tire; therefore, the contact replaced it at his own expense. The dealer once again rotated the tires and the front passenger side hubcap came off. The dealer once again refused to assist him. The contact wrote letters to the dealer, but they would not assist, including the manufacturer. The dealer later offered him one hubcap as compensation. The current mileage was 24,251 and failure mileage was approximately 12,500. Updated 02/17/09. Updated 02/17/09. Updated 10/06/09 the consumer stated he has lost a 3rd hubcap. Updated 10/08/09
2008 Versa, car started making whining noise, brought back and was told tires had cupping (sp?) and that it needed to be brought back to the dealer. Night before dealer appt. Back tired shredded while traveling on major interstate. Looked up complaints under tires on this site and there is a pending investigation onto the continental tires for "allege sudden and catastrophic failure of tire including tread separation" Nissan dealer says that they will not replace the back tire because blow out was due to road hazards. Sent them the investigation link. Waiting to hear how they will handle. These tires are dangerous and could be putting lives in danger. (mileage listed May be 10-15 miles less than on odometer... Do not have vehicle still at dealership).
Tl contact owns a 2008 Nissan Versa. While driving approximately 50 MPH the tire pressure monitor sensor light came on. He added air to the tires and drove over 16 MPH but the sensor did not reset as indicated in the users manual. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they could not locate the cause of the failure but they manually reset the tire pressure monitor sensor. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to the dealer who manually reset the tire pressure sensor. The failure occurred a third time and the vehicle taken to the dealer again to manually reset the tire pressure monitor sensor. The failure mileage was 15,000 and the current mileage was 23,000. Have had my Nissan Versa since 2009, got it with 50 miles on the car. Spent 2 years in florida with it without a problem and in the past year I've had so many issues with this car I'll never buy another Nissan again. Have replaced all of the tires twice and today I was a mile from my home when my car had issues accelerating and starting making a loud rattling noise. I've come to find out that my muffler has broken at the flange. Apparently this is common with these nissans and nothing has been done to change it. This can cause carbon monoxide poisoning god forbid someone parks this car in their garage and could also cause an accident if the entire muffler rusts and falls out of someones car while their on the highway.
The tire pressure monitoring system began to flash and then went to a steady signal. When I pulled over to check the tire pressure it was fine. This continued to happen almost daily and is still happening. On one occasion I ignored it and later that day I had a blow out due to low tire pressure. I cannot get the dealer to fix this. I changed wheels and added new tires and the condition continues. On some days while driving it will start to malfunction and then turn off. On other days it is fine. I have seen online that several other people have had the same problem.
March 2012 - tire sensor light went off; one sensor replaced. December 2012 - tire sensor light went off, and local tire shop said their diagnostic said sensors OK but that I should go to dealer. March 2013 - dealer's diagnostic said both rear sensors bad, but local tire shop's diagnostic machines said only one sensor bad (April 2013). One sensor replaced. April 2013 - tire sensor light went off, and same tire chain said sensors working as per their diagnostic machine. April 2013 - sensors relearned, but light went off within 1 day.
