Tl* the contact owns a 2000 Nissan Frontier equipped with Firestone primewell tires, size: 215/65/r15. While driving approximately 65 MPH, the contact felt a vibration in the tires. The contact discovered that the sidewall was separated from the thread of the rear passenger side tire. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the technician stated that the tire needed to be replaced. The tire was replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 107,183 and the tire failure mileage was 319. Ma 10/19/15
Went to my local garage to get my tires balanced. Mechanic reported that 1 of the 4 tires (all bought together) was beginning to come apart internally / belt separation. The tires were installed during October of 2019. They have less than 8000 miles on the tires. Vendor is reimbursing me for the one tire that was found to have the defect. Thankfully this was caught early, but am very concerned as the other 3 tires have the same dot number.
Tread seperated on my vehicle while on the freeway, resulting in $4,000.00 of damage to vehicle, over $3,000.00 in lost earnings.after picking up my truck from body shop, exactly one week later a second tire from the set (b.f. Goodrich long trail 265/75/r15) exploded while on the freeway it wasnt a seperation ,the sidewall literally blew out around the entire circumfrence.
My 9 year old son and I took a trip up north to sd. On our first day out approx. 70 miles away form the border the driver side tire's tread flew off causing my 2000 nissian truck to vere in front of an oncoming semi truck. We avoided the collision and removed the damaged tire. This was the second time that it has happend. This time we were moving at a speed of 70 miles per hour and the tread came back on the truck, scratched the front quarter panel with the steel sticking out, tore of the metal bar holding the fender on, tore the fender half way off and dented the underside ofthe driver side door. About a month earler the passanger side tire did the same thing. I was moving at a lower rate of speed and no damage occurred that time. The next day we replaced the tire with a used one from a local tire shop and continued our journey. …
Sudden tread separation on Firestone wilderness ht p215-65r15 tires factory installed as original equipment on 2000 Nissan Frontier xe 2wd drive vehicle. While driving on I-10 east at 75 MPH from phoenix to tucson az, the treads on the front passenger side tire separated with no warning. The vehicle developed a slight wobble similar to that experienced when the wheels are not balanced properly and within minutes, the tread separated and came off completely. The flying shards of tread ripped the molding under the bumper partially off, damaged the right turn light mechanism and caused minor dents and paint work damage to the vehicle. Lost control of the vehicle for a brief instant but as there were no other vehicles in the immediate vicinity thankfully there was no serious damage or bodily injury. Completed trip on spare tire and immediately replaced all 4 tires on the vehicle. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2000 Nissan Frontier. The vehicle has Michelin x radial tires, line size p215/65/r15 purchased new June 2006. Approximately four years later, the contact noticed that all four tires were dry rotted. The tires were rotated every 7,000 miles and the contact was not advised of any failures within the tires. The manufacturer was contacted who offered to provide the contact with a fifty percent discount. The mileage on the vehicle when the tires were purchased was 76,378 and the failure mileage was 97,815. The dot number was unknown. Updated 12/14/2011 updated 03/03/11
While cleaning truck, I noticed hundreds of small cracks in the tire sidewall area on all four tires. All small cracks were on the sidewall that was exposed. No cracks were observed on the inner sidewall area. No failure noted as of now but I'm leary about keeping these tires on the vehicle for safety reasons. The tires are Michelin xcx/apt truck/SUV tires that were installed on 10/2004 and they have only 33,268 miles on them so far (60K mile warranty). The vehicle is a 2000 Nissan Frontier xe, v6, 2wd. The tire size is p235/75r15.
Firestone tire on drivers side rear blew out and tread came off and damaged underside of rear fender. I was driving north on interstate 75 in florida near white springs exit. I was traveling between 70 and 75 MPH when I heard a loud noise and my truck began to sway. I looked in my rearview mirror to see about a 4' piece of tread flying through the air behind me.
Brand new tires with less than 500 miles on them, after 2 attempts they still would not take a balance. Owner determined by spinning the tires on the vehicle that the tread block wobbled side to side and the sidewall height varied as the tire was rotated. Vendor replaced two of the four tires under warranty.
The right rear tire on my 2000 Nissan truck the tread came off but the tire did not go flat but when it came off it bent up the bed on one side. I was traveling south bound on I 17 mile post 217 the truck has 45000 mile on it ad the tires.
