While driving on a highway at approximately 65 mph the car seemed to lose traction and the slip indicator light appeared. Once able to safely look at the vehicle it was noticed the rear wheels were not aligned and the lower rear control arm had snapped.
I took my car in for an alignment and the mechanic discovered excessive and sever corrosion on the lower suspension link in the rear, the corrosion is so bad that the entire subframe is holding on by a corroded approximately 1/2 inch section, one bump and the entire rear end of the vehicle will fall off. This car is less than 10 years old, has 80,000 miles on it and is for the most part kept in a garage. The corrosion is so bad that the car has been deemed unsafe to drive. Individuals who are experts in automotive parts have indicated that the corrosion that has occurred would be expected for a car that is over 50 years old and has been sitting in water or subjected to extreme use of salt/water/road chemicals to corrode to the degree that this entire unit is showing. …
Takata recall... A semi trailer swung and almost hit my car. I swerved and drop off on the shoulder of I-30, I hit the concrete retainer wall at 70mph and no airbag deployed and I had a knot on my head and black eye. Also I hit 4 hogs on fm852, again no airbag.
My suspension broke off the frame of the car while moving on a turn after being at a complete stop making a left. The rear driver side detached from the frame making the car unmovable and bending the tire almost at a 90 degree angle.
Heard a loud pop noise from the rear of the car while backing up, steering was unstable while driving. Looked under the car and discover the right rear control arm is broken.
In less than three years and just over 36,000 miles we have serviced the transmission 3-4 times (I've lost count), had it brought in for brake noise (screeching) at least 4 times, and just this week the bearings in both rear wheels had to be replaced. The brakes screech is ear splitting. They reconditioned the surface of the rotors, re-shimmed the pads and replaced the pads 9 months ago. I warned them then that I knew this was only a temporary fix and that I was concerned that they would get noisy again once the warranty expires and that is exactly what has happened. A few months before that they shimmed the pads which made it better temporarily. I told them shims were a band aid for a design flaw and that it wouldn't last. Several weeks later it was back in the shop. The tranny has the shakes. …
I was driving to work and on a highway, ready to get onto a major interstste rt295n in nj. I was going aprox. 45 MPH when the car started pulling drastically to my right,I thought I had a flat tire. Pulled the car over to inspect, and my rear passenger tire was not flat but bent as if it was coming off. I had to have the car towed to a mechanic where he confirmed the yes in fact the tire was coming off! He said if I drove much further I would have lost my tire it was hanging by a rusty thread!! Upon further inspection he note the whole rear subframe is rusted out and I needed not one but both lower control arms replace because the drivers side was about to separate also. This is going to cost me big buck along with a rental car,as this is not something insurance will cover. …
I had a blowout and this was the closest tire shop to me at the time. I asked and was told that their used tires are $30. Okay, that's fine. That's the standard rate for used tires. The first tire they tried to sell me had two nails in it. The guy showed me the tire but didn't show me the whole tire until I asked to see it myself. I pointed out the two nails that were obvious and he acted as if he didn't know they were already there. The second tire had little to no meat on it. I refused that tire and they tried to offer the tire for $28 instead of $30. No sale. I was then told that they didn't have anymore tires my size. Miraculously, the owner/manager found another tire with sufficient tread and no holes. …
Tl* the contact owned a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the rear passenger side control arm was repaired by an independent mechanic. While driving on the highway at 40 MPH, the front driver's side wheel detached from the vehicle. The driver was able to skid to the side of the road. A police officer observed that the lug nuts May not have been tightened enough to properly secure the tire. The inside of the rim was inspected by the police officer when he observed the vehicle. The bumper, quarter panel, sub frame, alloy wheel, front driver's side suspension control arm assembly, and the front driver's side driveshaft assembly were all severely damaged. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the contact's insurance company and was towed to a referred body shop. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. …
I almost had a horrible accident on 1-22-15. I was going about 50 MPH when the rear passenger tire completely disengaged from the tire rim. All that was left on the rim was a two inch remnant of the tire. I will e-mail you a picture of the tire and I assure you that you never saw anything like this. The tire only had 12034 miles on it. The tire was a Michelin energy green x. Tire size p215/55r17 which was made in Canada. Dot b33f00rx0813. It is a miracle I did not get into a serious accident. I was so unnerved I went to the nearest tire shop and purchased four new Goodyear tires that cost me $642.00. I called Michelin's customer service dept. And they said sorry but they will not give me a dime-as expected. Check out a site consumer affairs that has no fewer that 257 complaints about Michelin tires.
