My 24 year old daughter had just came off the on ramp and began merging onto highway 99 northbound when she heard a loud bang and felt her car drop as if she had a flat tire, as she began pulling off the freeway making her way to the shoulder she saw her tire pass her up and continue down the freeway where it continued alone for about 100 yards and by sheer luck ended up along the guard railing and did not cause any accidents or injuries as many have reported happened to them. Her passenger side rear wheel broke off leaving the center of the wheel and 5 lug nuts remaining, the entire center of the wheel remained on the car, all 5 wheel spokes were broken off due to cracking, I inspected her remaining wheels and found them all ready to fail evidencing cracks on most wheel spokes
My wife has taken her 350z into the dealership multiple times for a low tire pressure indicator light. Everytime, they have been unable to determine the cause. This most recent time, however, she took the car in on 3/16/2012. While she waited, the mechanic and service tech inspected the vehicle. Upon completion of inspection, they informed her that three of the four rims had noticeable cracks in them. She was instructed to return with the vehicle on 3/19/2012 and the dealership would determine whether or not Nissan would pay for the replacement as, according to the service technician, is a known issue on these rims. I have called Nissan to learn that they do not have a recall on these rims but through internet searches have found out that this is a common issue. …
Tire size 265/35ZR19 driving down highway at 55 mph when tire blew out. I was able to lucklily get the shoulder and it looked like my tire was cut open with a can opener on the sidewall. The tpms sensor was working fine and they were never plugged and had plenty of tread. I sent pictures of the damage to continental that just replies they're not warranted. If you google continental blow outs you will see tires and even recalls that look just like mine. I definitely could of been killed or killed someone else if the blowout occurred on a busy highway because I lost control
This complaint is being filed as part of an official california highway patrol investigation into a major injury traffic collision involving a law enforcement officer. The chp mait investigation # is sl-45-06. The traffic collision occurred on October 11, 2006, within los angeles county and involved a 2006 Nissan 350zx. During the collision, the left front wheel separated from the vehicle and bounced over the freeway divider and impacted a law enforcement motor officer traveling upon the opposite side of the freeway. A preliminary inspection of the wheel indicates a probable structural failure of the wheel (mechanical defect). A review of the NHTSA complaint data base indicates that the failure of the wheel is similar to the failure noted in NHTSA complaint #10164822.
Takata recall I am highly concerned about Nissan 350z wheel models. While driving my vehicle collapsed due to the fact the rim broke off. Wheels are Nissan stock. No aftermarket! No injuries were present. This is a safety issue, my life and possibly the life of others couldve been taken from this matter. So far Nissan refuses to be at fault. Vehicle was in motion when incident took place. Heard grinding at 55mph and vehicle collapsed at 10mph.
1. Clicking noise heard from the drivers front wheel of car when braking two days prior to incident 2. The driver's side front outer portion of the wheel broke off, leaving the center portion of the wheel attached where the lug nuts attach the wheel to the car. All the spokes of the wheel broke apart. The outer portion of the wheel with the tire attached went bouncing across the road to oncoming traffic. The car came to a stop sliding on the ground leaving substantial body damage to the vehicle. This is a stock Nissan wheel that came with the car. This occurred after making a right hand turn coming off a freeway off ramp. 3. Towed the car to Nissan dealership. Dealership said the wheels are only warranted 3 years after the car was manufactured. The extended warranty does not cover the wheels. Nissan refused to perform any repairs on the vehicle.
Hello, I was leaving a stop sign barely moving and all of a sudden it sounded like a gun going off in my car. Before I could grasp my next thought my car flipped completely over on its side no tires touching the ground! I had to crawl out passenger window . Upon inspection of vehicle this is what was found.
I purchased 4 new tires for my 2004 Nissan 350z, they are the falken pro g5 sport a/s tires p225/45r18 on the front. 245/45/r18 on the rear on 2/06/19 the mileage in was 16,292. On 1/15/20 I took the car out and the car was bouncing all over the road, I took it back to discount tires in las vegas nevada on that same day and they said it was the balance of the tires. When the technician tried to balance the tires he said they are off by over 1 ounce. Another tech came and tried to balance the tires and found a bulge on all 4 tires and opted to replace them all,I only had 69 miles on the tires! I have to say in all my years I have never seen tires develop bulges like these and all 4 needing replacement with only 69 miles on them! I am very nervous with these tires being that they are installed on a Nissan 350z with the power the vehicle has.
NHTSA investigations
