Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2008-2019 Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX 570 vehicles. Over time, the seat belt tension sensor wire harness may break and deactivate the front passenger air bag, knee air bag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will modify the front passenger seat belt assembly or replace it with an improved one, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 11, 2019.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2008-2016 Toyota Land Cruiser, 2006 Lexus LX470, and 2008-2013 Lexus LX570 vehicles. These vehicles may be equipped with an incorrect driver or front passenger air bag.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected air bag assemblies, free of charge. The recall began September 29, 2017. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331.

Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Lexus LX570. When the ignition was started, the air bag malfunction warning indicator illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 18V887000 (air bags, seat belts) in August of 2019, but the failure recurred. The contact also had the front driver's side air bag replaced. The vehicle was taken to Lexus of marin (located at 513 francisco blvd e, san rafael, ca 94901, [phone]) where it was diagnosed that the wiring harness needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 66,000.
Airbag 'off indicator stays on constantly. Have received a recall notice from Lexus saying it is a seat belt tension sensor and to be patient while they prepare a remedy for this condition. The light came on one day and has remained on since.
