Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2007-2011 Lexus GS350 and GS450h, 2006-2013 Lexus IS350 and 2010-2014 Lexus IS350C vehicles, equipped with 3.5L V6 2GR-FSE gasoline engines. The diaphragms in the fuel pulsation dampers may harden over time and develop cracks, possibly causing a fuel leak.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel delivery pipe with a new pipe that has improved pulsation dampers, free of charge. The recall began August 23, 2018.

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006-2012 Lexus IS250 and IS350 vehicles manufactured August 23, 2005, through October 5, 2011; 2010-2012 Lexus IS250C and IS350C vehicles manufactured April 10, 2009, through October 6, 2011; and 2008-2011 Lexus IS-F vehicles manufactured December 14, 2007, through July 10, 2011.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and Lexus dealers will install new wiper arm nuts, free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on April 4, 2013. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

Toyota is recalling certain model year 2006 through 2008 Lexus passenger cars manufactured from August 26, 2005 through August 4, 2008. Micro-foreign objects in the material of the valve spring May degrade the strength of the valve spring, possibly causing the spring to break.
Remedy: Toyota will notify owners and dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. The safety recall began on September 2, 2010. Owners May contact Lexus at 1-800-255-3987.

Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus IS350. The contact stated that the dashboard was melting and becoming sticky. The failure caused the dashboard to become shiny impeding the view of the driver. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the letter was mailed to the previous owner regarding a repair for the failure and the deadline was missed for the dashboard replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided the contact with a maintenance voucher. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Lexus IS 350. The contact stated that the dashboard was sticky causing a glare to reflect onto the windshield causing a visibility issue while driving. The contact informed Lexus of westminister (7600 westminster blvd, westminster, ca 92683) of the failure and was referred to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer informed the contact that there was a customer support letter mailed out to in 2015 and expired in 2017. No further assistance was provided. The contact stated that she never received the letter. The contact stated the failure was a safety issue because the light from the dashboard was reflecting onto the windshield and reducing her visibility while driving. The failure mileage was 71,348. Consumer stated dealer and manufacture IS aware of the defects.

I bought my car used in 2015 and about 1,000 miles after driving it off the lot the airbag light came on. I took it to the local Lexus dealership and they diagnosed it as the driver's knee airbag and said the entire airbag wire harness needed to be replaced and quoted me $3,500. I looked up the issue and found that Lexus had previously issued a tsib on it (l-sb-0167-08). I also read many owners around that time were able to get it fixed under warranty (72mo or 70K miles). Unfortunately that expired for me 2 years before I even bought the car. I'm very frustrated that they know this IS an issue, that it's related to airbag safety and they are still asking me to pay thousands. It's been two years and the light IS still on. Ps: the dealership told me several times that I wasn't affected by the taketa recall but I later got the recall notice.
My airbag light IS on. I did some research online and Lexus had issued a TSB for the airbag light for 2006-2007 (some 2008) Lexus IS models. This TSB was only covering 5 years or 70K miles. I'm currently at 90K miles and this airbag light IS on. Apparently the airbag harness the cars were fitted with were too short, and causes a fault in the system when one of the connectors related to the airbag system gets loosened up. This disables the entire airbag system from what I have read. This seems like an extremely unsafe manufacturing fault, and should have been a recall as opposed to a TSB limited to a warranty period.

The contact had previously received five recall notices from the manufacturer. The contact called the dealer who inspected the vehicle a month after the crash occurred and stated that the vehicle was functioning properly and to replace the tire.
