Bought new car. Several electrical malfunctions. Inside door locks (repaired 2 times). Horn malfunction (repaired 2 times). Spark plugs, wires, and coil (replaced 1 time). Rear defrost malfunction (repaired 1 time.) air filter cover screws and holes stripped out (replaced 1 time). Air conditioner fan-scraping noise (never repaired). Outside door locks malfunction (currently being looked at). Stick shift was "jumping around"-rear motor mount was bad (replaced 1 time). Knock sensor malfunction (replaced 1 time). Dash dials not working (replaced fuse 1 time). Problems started day after I purchased car-should have heeded the obvious warning! Do not buy Kia!
Consumer complained that rear seat belts were not functioning properly, and another set was installed in the back. Currently, they seem to be too small for an average adult. When puttng them on they automatically lock into the seat. Dealer replaced rear seat belt assembly. Right front window is blurry. Dealer replaced deformed front door glass. Rear defroster inoperative. Dealer found rear defrost grid broken. Left side mirror vibrates. Side mirror assembly replaced.
I have <45000 miles on my car (2000 Kia Sephia) and have had to have the front brakes replaced 3x and the back brakes replaced 1x. Also, when I turn on the ac, there is a loud noise from the front of the car. The car hesitates when trying to get up to speed. The car also feels like it is trying to pull something of great weight when driving at 55 MPH. The back seatbelts do not always lock. The dealer informed me that the seat belts are only to lock when the brakes are slammed or the vehicle is hit (so how is a child booster seat supposed to stay put when the vehicle is in motion?)
1. Rear window tint damaged by defoster wires causing the tint to bubble and obstruct rear view. 2. Heat damage to front dash results in an adjustment or movement to the fromt windsheild creating cracks in windshiled to large to repair. Occurs with both factory and commercially installed glass. 3. A sub result occurs where the defroster vents on the dash break and no longer provide directed air to the windshiled, causing obstructed views.
The car died while driving down the road repeatedly. Battery leaked. Brakes had to be replaced for the entire car at 60,000 miles. The vents on the dashboard have popped up and broken. Now the defroster does not blow the air on the windshield. This vehicle was stored in a garage. The seams on the seat come undone. The cigarette lighter broke and flops in the dash. The switch to override the transmission lock is broken. The rear brake light broke when replacing the struts which you have to remove the back dash to get to. The board that is under the carpet in the trunk warped. The carpets came up from the sides of the car. The storage bin in the center console broke, twice. The wind shield chips and errodes when in a car wash. I have never seen a windshield in this bad shape before. The back seat does not stay down. The headlights have a bad seal and there is water now in them. …
The first time I drive my car for the day and I turn on my air, it makes a very loud "knocking" noise. My husband says it's metal to metal. The dealer says it is normal that all Kia's do this. I know others who have no problem w/ their A/C. Now dealer says some Kia's do this & they don't know why so it is normal. Dealer says Kia engineers know about problem but don't know how to fix it. Three people I talked to at Kia's consumer line have never heard of this promblem. They replaced my compressor which was useless & the dealer told me it would be. Now the dealer told me to call Kia's consumer line to tell them the dealer says they can't fix it. Dealer tells me everyone w/ the problem takes his word that the noise is okay. Dealer says I am the only one who has pressed the issue. Also my rotars had to be replaced at a low mileage. I've also had a short in my dome light. …
Pre owned vehicle purchased in very good condition and still in very good condition. At purchase front of dashboard was slightly warped. Since purchase, front of dashboard has become increasingly warped, defrost vents are severely cracked, causing front windshield defrost not to function properly.
Since the time that I have purchased this car it has been falling apart. The car is constantly shutting down or it just won't start. At this present time my car is sittting at stonemountain Kia whereas it is in need a third battery all within less than a years time. Eventhough they know the dangerous history of this car that I purchased new, they continually return the car to me without doing a safety check. I have had my car towed to their location several times in the same week because they have felled to fix the problem. Once again my car is continually suffering from the same problems that are continuing to grow worst. The air conditioning system fails to work properly. The driveshaft is always sticking in the gears. The air bag light continually blink and stay on for periods at a time. The exhaust still making loud noise that I have complained about since I brought the car. …
