What 2006 Kia Amanti owners say
Transmission & drivetrain
When parking and trying to put the car in reverse our 2006 Amanti Kia lurched forward and accelerated down the street. I was the passenger and had unbuckled my seat belt in preparation of getting out of the car. Seeing that I was not belted in, I leaned over and saw that my husband had his foot on the brakes and not on the accelerator. The brakes did not engage, nor could the car gear down. The car kept accelerating faster and faster. The car was steered around a turn and finally lost control due to the speed and crashed through two tree shrubs, through a closed garage door, took out the main post in the garage, and hit the parked car in the garage. The airbags went off and the car stopped. 911 was called and my husband and I were taken to the hospital. The car was totaled! The car had only 20,000 miles on it. …

Tl contact owns a 2006 Kia Amanti. The contact was driving approximately 10 MPH and began to slow down in order to make a turn. When attempting to accelerate there was a low engine power response with hesitation. The accelerator pedal was applied numerous times, and then suddenly an excessive acceleration occurred causing the vehicle to crash into a house. A police report was not filed. There were no personal injuries. The vehicle and the house sustained extensive damage. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

Im driving my car and all of a sudden it just slowing down on its own I have my foot on the gas pedal the engine light comes on it was like the car was loosing power and this is not the first time this has happen, it slow down before but no engine light. Iam lucky because I do not drive my car often also I do not drive on expressways or highways because if I had who knows what would happen if my car started slowing down own its own. No accidents yet.
