What 1999 Infiniti I30 owners say

Air bags

The 'Air Bag' light stays on at all times. Its been like this for over 10 years. I've called my local Infiniti dealer, they said they cannot replace the Takata airbag until NHTSA identifies this model in a national recall. I'm afraid the airbag may not properly deploy or deploy inadvertently, and cause serious injury or death of driver or occupants. Please do the right thing and add the 1999 Infiniti I-30 to recall list. Thanks

Car was driven short distance (approx. 2 miles), parked and turned off. Within 2-5 minutes I had to put something in car and noticed smoke flowing out of grill area, and popped the hood, and noticed orange flame in alternator. Fire dept. Was called to scene, and a report is available. At time of complaint, car is in shop w/ a private mechanic due to Infiniti's refusal to assist in matter, and cost of repair is yet undetermined.

Body & structure

I took my well-maintained, garaged 1999 Infiniti I30 to the mechanic after noticing the handling getting sloppy and severe inner tire wear. Upon inspection, he informed me that the front core support (the box beam frame member that extends the width of the car and supports the radiator) was rusted through. The corrosion is severe to the point that the sides of the beam are eaten away over 1/3 to 1/2 the length. In places, all that is left supporting the radiator is the top plate. The center support bar that holds the front end of the motor in place is supposed to be bolted to the bottom of the beam, but because of the corrosion, it is now hanging cantilevered. The car is not safe to drive with the motor inadequately supported. …
