Nissan North America, Inc. (INFINITI) is recalling certain 2003 INFINITI FX35, 2006-2008 FX35 and FX45 vehicles that previously received a replacement front passenger air bag assembly under recall number 20V-008.
Remedy: INFINITI will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag module, free of charge. The recall began on April 19, 2021. Owners may contact INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2001-2003 Maxima, 2002-2006 Sentra, 2002-2004 Pathfinder, 2007-2011 Versa Sedan and Versa Hatchback, 2001-2004 Infiniti I30 and I35, 2002-2003 Inifiniti QX4, 2003-2008 Infiniti FX35 and FX45 and 2006-2010 M35 and M45 vehicles.
Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflators with alternate desiccated inflators, free of charge. The recall began February 12, 2020.

Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.

I live 200-400 miles from any Infiniti dealer. Infiniti will not authorize the repair at my local Nissan dealership. The only option was to tow my car 200 miles to a dealer there and then tow it back. Obviously, if there were any issues following the repair...I would have to drive the 400 miles to have it resolved. This is not acceptable to me. Recently, my son needed to borrow my car and he lives close to the Murray Utah dealer so I called them to arrange the repair. They made an appt. for this weekend, denied a replacement vehicle and then said that the visit would only be to inspect and see if my airbag needed to be replaced. If it did, they would need to order the part and have the vehicle brought in when they had the part. They did not have the part in stock and could not tell me a time frame that the part would arrive. …
In feb 2016 when I saw the recall on the news for airbags, I called to see if the Infiniti FX35 2008 was recalled. I was told no recall the truck is fine. Now in July 2016 I receive a letter for a passenger airbag recall. Do you know if the driver airbag is being investigated? I'm curious to know, because my mom was killed in an auto accident, while she was driving the truck in dec. 2015. She had injury to her face, neck and more. What makes the passenger airbag inflate? Is it normal for the driver seat to come off the track? Thank you for you attention to this matter. Updated 12/04/17
Electrical system
I took my car in on oct 5th for the Takata airbag recall. Soon after the Infiniti technician completed the work my airbag light came on. I contacted Infiniti and took my car back and they will not repair my car. They are charging me $2388 to repair it because they said the two airbags are not connected. I explained that the airbag light had never been on until the technician did the work and now Infiniti is refusing to take responsibility for their actions.
