There was a was a recall issued back in 2010 for the 2006 Honda Ridgeline. Mine is a 2006 but when I put in the VIN number it doesn't come up with a recall. I had the problem that you all are describing my vehicle caught fire from probably a faulty wiring harness.[redacted]. I am the 4th or 5th owner from the vehicle but it says that it was never recalled or it was never serviced. I am taking it to the dealership here today, and just want to know how to contact and who do you contact for more service recall information.

My husband was driving the vehicle when it caught fire and was totaled. There was a recall on the vehicle due to recall#10-012 which involved the blower motor in the dashboard catching fire. It was repaired by Honda on 5/4/10. Either the work was not done or the repair did not work. Liberty mutual determined that the cause was the recalled blower motor and paid us for a total loss but did not subrogate against Honda due to the expiration of an "implied warranty" on the recall repair (more than 4 years). If their repair did not solve the problem on this vehicle, it is doubtful whether other vehicles on the road were resolved any better. My fear is that god forbid my grandchildren were in the back of the vehicle at the time, they would have been injured. This is a family vehicle and my fear is that children riding in similar models from Honda could be at risk. …

On 1/9/18, while my husband was driving on a local road in fairmont, wv the dashboard on the passenger's side started smoking. My husband and his friend, stopped the car and exited the car immediately and called 911. Within minutes the smoke turned into a flame. The first responder was a police officer who did not have a fire extinguisher. It took ~10-15 minutes from the call for the fire truck to arrive and the cab of the car was consumed by the fire. It was put out but the entire cab was destroyed and hood and top of car were burned. We have notified Honda corporate. They documented our complaint but nothing else has been done. I own a 2006 Honda Ridgeline which I purchased new from the Honda dealership in hempstead, new york. On December 15, 2010, I was driving on utopia parkway in queens, new york when I noticed a burning smell. I had the heat on and turned it off. I pulled over to check where the smell was coming from. I saw smoke coming from the glove compartment area, I immediately called 911. When I opened the hood, there were flames coming from the same area. I have reported this to Honda. After doing some research online, I find that this same thing has happened to a number of 2006/2007 Honda Ridgeline owners. It is obvious there is some kind of defect and not just a coincidence. I am waiting for Honda to get back to me.

Well driving with the A/C on , I smelled a burning smell and the A/C fan went off. I immediately turned off the ac . Takata recall we have been notified of the problem with both driver and passenger airbags. As of this date we have been told the parts are not available to make the repair. I am afraid of driving my Ridgeline for fear of injury or death. The same goes for the passenger airbag.. Also the electrical system could cause a fire. Honda needs to rectify these issues as soon as possible, before someone is injured or killed! They need to fix or replace this vehicle or exchange it for a safe one.
