Owner reports
Selected complaints filed with NHTSA by 2025 Honda Prologue owners, lightly cleaned up (personal details are redacted by NHTSA).
Two months and 3k miles into lease ownership of my 2025 Honda Prologue, the front suspension began making a loud creaking noise. The noise is most pronounced under acceleration and while turning, but also occurs over bumps and uneven road surfaces. It has progressively worsened over time. I brought the vehicle to my Honda dealership for diagnosis. The service department acknowledged the noise but returned the vehicle unfixed, stating Honda is "aware of the issue" and that it is "under investigation." They also stated it is "not safety related." No repair was performed. This appears to be a widespread defect affecting the 2024 Honda Prologue. Online forums, owner groups, and existing NHTSA complaints describe the same symptoms - creaking and clicking from the front suspension and CV axles, often appearing within the first few hundred to few thousand miles. …
The vehicle makes a noticeable clicking sound when making routine left and right turns. This noise is not coming from the cabin of the vehicle, but sounds like it's coming from the wheels/axles. I have observed some level of clicking sound during turns since I purchased the vehicle in May 2025, but with each passing month, the volume and frequency of the clicking has increased. I now feel unsafe making any turns at 90 degrees or greater as the steering feels insecure and sounds indicate possible hazard/parts failure during vehicle operation. Almost all turns feel as though they are pushing the vehicle to the limit and I fear the parts/joints will fail while the vehicle is in operation. U-Turns are nearly out of the question. If a vehicle cannot safely and effectively make a greater degree of turn, then the turning radius should not allow a driver to put the vehicle into that position. …
I am reporting multiple safety-related failures with my 2025 Honda Prologue. The vehicle has an unresolved drivetrain/axle defect that affects safe operation, and the dealer has stated that axle components are on backorder with no repair timeline. In addition, the main vehicle control screen completely blacked out and will not turn back on. This screen controls critical vehicle and charging functions. Without it, I cannot control charging or access essential vehicle systems, rendering the vehicle unsafe and effectively unusable. Further, the charging port sensor failed to alert me that the charging port was open. Because no warning was provided, the port remained open and subsequently broke. This represents a failure of a safety-related sensor system that directly impacts the vehicle's ability to charge and operate properly. …
Around 3000 miles both front axles developed a clicking sound when turning. The sounds has gotten progressively worse over the next 2000 miles. Honda dealer service center confirmed bad axles but states Honda America no longer allows them to replace the axles since the replacements are failing quickly. Second dealer also declined to fix defective axles stating Honda America is "working on a new part". No one knows what the part is or when it will potentially be available. Honda dealer now appraises the Prologue at *less than half* of the MSRP. (Vehicle has 5000 miles.)
I have noticed a loud knocking sound coming from both the front right and left areas of the car when turning. I have read it may be a faulty CV joint but I am not sure. This issue arose before the car reached 6k miles. I believe these joints play a significant role in vehicle stability and safety. I have not been able to take it to the dealer yet but I will as soon as I can get a day off of work. There were no warnings on the dash, just a loud knocking when turning which appears to be a common defect that users are experiencing.
While merging onto the freeway in [redacted] today, I was slowing in response to a metered light but did not come to a complete stop. When the light turned green, and I accelerated, the vehicle suddenly jolted and produced a loud impact noise, similar to hitting a large pothole. I returned to the on-ramp to check the roadway but found no visible obstruction or hazard that would explain the incident.
There is a clicking from the front of the Prologue when I am turning the wheel, generally to the left. It occurs when making a left, backing out of a parking spot mostly. I brought it to dealer #1 and they stated this is a known issue and normal and with out a code there is nothing they can do to fix it. It is currently at dealership #2 waiting to find out if the repair can be fixed. It is also in for electrically issue with the windows.
Every time I turn fully left or right there is a clicking, binding type noise. Gos away as steering is straightened. Have not gone to dealer yet because I have heard on Prologue forum web site that it is not being fixed yet, some have been in 3 to 6 times to replace cv axles, but that Honda engineering is working on a fix, ie a newly designed cv axles. Would appreciate any help on speeding up this process.
Car started making knocking noise at 3k miles coming from axle. I reported to Dealership. Car sways on highways when steering straight. Car stop s at 10mph when turning corners saying that a pedestrian is infront of vehicle when there is no one. Backup camera glitches. Vehicle very unsafe. Dealership not doing anything. Contacted employees that sold me the vehicle and they are acting non chalant.
While making the turns (either side left or right or u turns ) it makes tik tik loud sound at both wheels. Took the vehicle to Honda dealership they said it's known issue can't be fixed until the Honda company fixes the issue. [redacted]
