I received a recall notice in 9/07 from the Ford company concerning my 2003 motorhome. It involved the speed control deactivation switch, which they said was defective. When I contacted a local Ford dealer as instructed by the letter, I was told the repair had to wait till the parts arrived in December. When I called the dealer lst week, I was told the parts wouldn't arrive until at least February. I called the Ford toll-free number and was told the same thing. Why are they dragging their feet on this? Why does it take so long to get the parts?

The dealer provided a repair quote, but no repairs have been made. The contact received recall notice number 05s28 for the vehicle speed control, however, it was unable to be located on the NHTSA website. The current and failure mileages were 61,000.
A safety recall was issued aug 2007 on Ford vehicles for the speed control which May cause an underhood fire. We have been trying to get the vehicle (2002 bt cruiser) in for repair over the last several months, and have been told that the parts are not available. Apparently there is a national back order of the replacement part(s). Our dealer said they are now being told they will not get a shipment until March. There is not a system in place that gives anyone an idea of when they May get this resolved. We have been told to keep calling the dealers, who keep saying they don't have parts. In the meantime they recommend disconnecting the cruise control, which as you can imagine, is not a pleasant thought for an rv which is used for long distance traveling. …

A week ago we received a recall notice for our 2001 Econoline truck concerning the fused jumper harness. We also saw it on the news. We called the Ford garage here to get this repaired and they said to call back in April. This vehicle is used every day for work and it is a great concern of ours that we are driving an unsafe vehicle and were told to wait a month! The dealership here in rochester mn. Is rochester Ford. If the parts aren't available, I want this documented that we couldn't get them. Mrs sorensen
