The horn and cruise control stopped working and the airbag light came on. It would not pass inspection. It happend while in motion and stationary. They said that the clock spring was broken and needed to be replaced. There is a recall on the 1996-1998 models for the broken clockspring but not the 2001. I see lots of comments that this is an issue beyond those model years included in the recall. They need to extend the recall beyond 1998 since this is an issue with more than those 2 years!

My van was operating and serviced as normal. Suddenly one day there was a squealing noise nad the air conditioning would not work. I took it to park Jeep/Chrysler in burnsville, mn [phone]) and was informed by kevin the service tech that the compresser had failed and that the repair would be over $700.00. I have not authorized the repair yet, but I seem to have no choice. He told me that even though there was a service bulletin, it would not be covered.
