What 1996 Chrysler New Yorker owners say
Steering
Consumer stated that while driving there was too much play in steering, and steering was too loose. She took the vehicle to a mechanic, and was told that the rack and pinion/ inner tie rod, and bushings were too loose. Consumer will take the vehicle to a dealer later.
When turning the vehicle the wheel vibrates, causing the center mounting bolt to come loose. Owner has replaced the rack and pinion twice prior to this. The dealer has been notified.
Brakes
Had to have break lines replaced-they removed cross member to access line and removed and manufacture tube and replace. $442.91 for 5 hours of labor and parts---my car was the 7th car in one week to need this expensive repair from a Chrysler car. Garage tells me this is due to calcium on roads or cheap steal from Chrysler. I feel due to poor quality of the Chrysler product-- "help me out."
Was parking vehicle with foot on brakes; felt vehicle sliding. The front brakes were gone when the brake pedal was applied. It went completely to the floor. Did not hit anything. Will be taking vehicle to dealer.
