My vehicle was stationary. My vehicle was parked in the carport for a few weeks. When I can back to the vehicle it was covered in mold. It was all over the dashboard and the seats. I looked online and a lot of consumers were experiencing the same problem. There is a water leak. The spare tire well has a lot of water in it. GM has a document id number 2198426 describing how to fix this water leak. I feel since a lot of consumers are going through this; then it should be recalled.

Noticed the paint is peeling off the back lift gate. It has continued to peel since. There is no rust. Took it to a dealer and he said he thought there was a recall due to the paint not adhering correctly. It's the only area on the vehicle and it looks terrible. Please let me know if this is covered by GM. Thank you

The Chevy Equinox has a history of water leaking into the spare tire wheelwell. My 2007 Equinox is no exception. It was repaired in 2009 under warranty. The repair lasted for a while then the wheelwell started filling up with water again. Last summer I was using a wet and dry vac to take the water out, only to have it fill up later on. GM put out a maintenance bulletin in 2009 for this problem. Their instructions did not fix the problem. There is no recall for this, why I don not know. The water creates a terrible smell, fogs up the windows on the inside, creates ice on the inside of the windows during the winter, can create mold throughout the carpeting and seats and is just a complete pain in the ass to keep dealing with this. Why has there been no recall on this issue? Many, many, many complaints are out there on this problem with no coverage from GM. This is not an owner cause. …

Tl contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. Ever since the vehicle was purchased, the contact heard a ticking sound in the engine compartment. He stated that the vehicle had poor fuel mileage. The contact also had to jump from the vehicle because the serpentine belt caught a wire that was not in a wiring harness as it should have been. The contact also experienced stabilatrac failure on two separate occasions, which caused the power steering to fail. He has been injured twice because the rear hatch door struts failed and struck him in the head. The tires that came on the vehicle were severely worn and the turn signals would not shut off. The two front doors and the rear hatch door cracks and makes squeaking noises. Some repairs have been made; however, the rear hatch needs to be repaired along with the ticking sound in the engine. The failure mileage was 170 and current mileage was 26,000.

On 05/05/13 my 7 year old daughter noticed that the backseat floorboards where wet. It's been raining a lot so I shrugged it off without checking. On 05/06/13 I noticed puddling in the front drivers side floorboard. Remembering what my 7 year old had said I looked back to find standing water in the back seat floor boards!!! I researched online and checked the spare tire well as recommended. It had standing water! I called the dealerships service center and they advised me that I would have to pay $265 for a "water leak diagnostic". Then I would have to pay for whatever the issue is because I am not under warranty. I have 2 children and am worried about mold. Not sure how I am going to fix this without bankrupting. I sucked it all out with a wet vac and will continue to work on the carpet every day. Someone help!!

The interior floor of my 2007 Chevy Equinox is wet. There is a leak somewhere in this vehicle and when I googled "my Equinox leaks" there are many others with the same problem. I noticed a smell in the car a few months ago and cleaned the entire car from top to bottom and found nothing that would cause any orders. This order smells like mold and chemicals mixed together. It is awful. As I was cleaning the car to find the smell I noticed the rear passenger floors were wet, not damp, wet. I have tried everything to get rid of the water but nothing works. The other internet positing, which there are problem a good 100 or more, all have the same problem as mine. GM has ignored their requests for help. Please help us get GM to fix this defect. Thank this is a health issue, the smell this problem is creating is toxic....

I had to have my trunk compartment replaced and some areas around the frame of the body re-sealed due to excess water accumulating in the spare time area. I was first told by the dealer repair shop that it was a defect but when I requested reimbursement GM denied that the dealer ever told them this. I believe GM is denying that there are some structural problems with this year and model and my fear is that another year down the road there will be other issues with the frame/body of this model vehicle. Also, it bothers me that we are encouraged to "buy American" but the American car makers do not want to stand up to their promise of good makemanship. I am disappointed and especially with the dishonesty at the corporate level of this corporation.
