I have been trying since 2016 to get Vista BMW in Broward County Florida to replace or remove the Takata airbags in my car, and I have the paperwork to prove that this was never done. Reeves BMW in Tampa, Florida, said that Vista BMW falsely reported that the airbags were replaced with non-Takata bags and refused to install the correct ones with desiccant. I have proof that shows that the airbags were never available at that time and the Vista BMW service manager himself told me that all he could do was replace it with another defective airbag until the replacements were available. After waiting two years without hearing from Vista or any BMW representative, and eventually moving to Tampa in 2018, I went to the BMW dealer here, Reeves, who stated that Vista had falsely reported that the "interim" airbag had been replaced and they refused to install the replacements. …

Front Seat Passenger Side Seatbelt warning indicator activates when no person is in passenger seat. Airbag warning light illuminates even when there is a passenger in the seat. I see numerous complaints about the same/similar issues in your data base, but seemingly no resolution or recall. My car is a convertible. I note from other complaints on your website that a related recall was initiated for my year make model but it did not apply to convertible version of this model. That is irresponsible and unacceptable.
passenger restraint malfunction warning light has been on. It is a common problem with many BMW's and they did not issue a recall prior to 2009 models. The repair is quite costly and it seems to be a computer error that is not actually an issue at all
Tl* the contact owned a 2007 BMW 328i. While driving approximately 35 MPH, another vehicle crashed into the driver side door of the contact's vehicle. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a pole. The air bags did not deploy. There was a police report filed. The contact sustained injuries to the right hand and back, and the whole right side of his body. Medical attention was required. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to an impound lot. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.
This is an addition to our previous recall problems as all electrical shut off as well. Here are the additional documents to be added to public record that indeed 6 recalls were recorded to our registered VIN and yet was told BMW had no obligation to adhere to these documents?! Its also crazy that we have tons of documents and yet we are allowed to show a mbyte at a time. How convenient.
BMW recall dated 11/12/2013, NHTSA campaign number: 13V564000. Recall up to 76,565 units for failures of front seat occupant protection mat. Air bag will not deploy in the event of an accident. Contacted BMW and was told my VIN does not fall into BMW range but I've been experiencing the exact failure since yesterday when I was driving down my driveway at 3 -5 MPH with no one in the passenger seat. I purchased the vehicle new 2007, currently has 83,000 miles on the vehicle. BMW has likely not identified the true VIN range of vehicles impacted by defective occupancy mats and refuses to pay for replacement and told me it was "customers cost" because my car was manufactured in dec., 2006 and the recall only went through cars manufactured up till sept. 30 2006 manufacture date. I think asked her if they put in a new part on the vehicles in December vs. …
Tl* the contact owned a 2007 BMW 328i. After exiting the highway to make a right turn, there was a delay with the engine. The accelerator pedal was slow to respond and the vehicle suddenly independently surged forward at a high rate of speed and crashed into a pole. The vehicle veered to the right as the failure progressed. The contact noticed that the vehicle was still running at 22 MPH. The contact had to turn the vehicle off, remove the key, and exit the vehicle due to the failure. The air bags did not deploy. The driver sustained pain to the right shoulder and two rear passengers sustained minor whiplash. Everyone required medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop by the insurance company who was not able to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. …
